Babies It's Cold Outside!!

Friday, December 21, 2012
If you are anything like me you are like me you've been rushing around like a crazy person trying to get everything ready for the holiday! I really dislike when our break only begins a day or two before the holiday. I feel like I can't get anything straight!

I digress....

Soooo I've been trying to find gifts for my kiddos that are:
a.) Useful.
b.) Something that will last.
c.) Not a fortune!

So voila!

Simple scarves to keep my kiddos nice and warm this holiday season :)

I purchased 6 yards of polar fleece from my local fabric store and got to work! Our living room ottoman worked well for a flat cutting surface. Of course I watched Home Alone while trying to be semi crafty!

I simply cut notches every 7 inches to know where each scarf would start.

I then placed my yard stick out for a straight cutting guide. (nothing is worse that realizing you cut as crooked as you do on a white board)

Once I cut the strip out I cut 1 inch fringes at the ends of each scarf, but I forgot to take a picture of that!

Then I switched up the colors :)

The 3 colors my students will be sporting tomorrow <3

26 scarves:

- 1.5 yards of blue polar fleece
-1.5 yards of green polar fleece
-3 yards of pink polar fleece
-a pair of sharp scissors
-a yard stick
-1 hour
-26 warm bundles of giggles!

The hubs trying one out in our "chilly" living room.

and enough scrap to create to fur baby scarves! haha If nothing else, it made for a good picture :)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
XOXO

Would you mind sharing what your total cost was? I'm curious because I'm clueless on fabric costs.
